Aston Villa are interested in signing John Terry, according to Sky sources.
We understand the 36-year-old former Chelsea man is considering a number of offers and Villa hope he can be persuaded to see out his career with the Midlands side.
Villa boss Steve Bruce played golf with Terry in the Algarve at the weekend, where they talked about the possibility of the former England skipper joining the Championship outfit, who hope to mount a promotion push next season.
Terry is believed to be open to the idea of moving to Villa Park but he also has options with Premier League sides and is confident he can still perform at the highest level.
The central defender has played his final match for Chelsea after a distinguished 22-year spell at Stamford Bridge, which will officially finish at the end of this month.
He was a peripheral figure in terms of playing time during his final campaign with the Blues but has made it clear that he wants to continue his career.
Terry said after the final Premier League game of the season against Sunderland: "Every ex-player says the same - play as long as you can and treasure every minute. I want to play.
"It's the reason why I decided to call it a day at Chelsea. I want to play, whether that's for one more year or two."
