Werder Bremen's Serge Gnabry has activated an exit clause in his contract, with the winger set to leave the club after a single season.
Former Arsenal man Gnabry scored 11 Bundesliga goals in a breakthrough campaign, prompting RB Leipzig head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl to confirm his interest in signing the 21-year-old.
Gnabry previously welcomed speculation linking him with a move to Bayern Munich, but Hoffenheim are in pole position to seal his signature, with reports in Germany suggesting he will cost €8million.
"Werder Bremen is really a special club and has exceeded my expectations" Gnabry wrote on social media.
"I had a chance to prove myself here, and I am very grateful to all of you. I will not forget the support of the whole city, the fans and my team-mates."
Gnabry made his Germany debut in November 2016 in a World Cup qualifier against San Marino, scoring a hat-trick in a crushing 8-0 victory, and Werder coach Alexander Nouri is sad to see the winger leave the club.
"Of course, it is a pity," Nouri said. "Serge with us was an absolute performer, who has made an exceptionally positive development and has helped the team enormously with strong performances.
"We wish him all the best for his future and his future career."
